An application will be considered complete and subject to review only with all the parts are completed. All the technical instructions on how to complete those tasks will be provided on the application platform.

Online Logical Reasoning Test

This test is aimed at understanding the way applicants solve different tasks. It consists of 2 sections; verbal and non-verbal, 20 questions in each (40 questions in total) and lasts for 40 minutes. The test does not test the candidate’s knowledge on any subject but is rather aimed at seeing how the candidates think, and how they use given data to answer the questions. You can choose in which language you want to take the test – Uzbek or Russian or English. Your language choice doesn't affect the results. No preparation is needed.

Online Video Interview

According to the results of the Online logical reasoning test, candidates are invited to participate in an Online Video interview. It lasts for 20-25 minutes during which the candidate will have a conversation with 2 Selection Committee members. The purpose of the interview is to continue getting to know the candidate. The interview is usually conducted in English, but the candidate can ask to switch to their mother tongue if one of the members of the Selection Committee can speak the chosen language.

Additional Information (College Preference, Recommendations)

Recommendations

  •  ‘’Community Reference’’ must be completed by someone who can provide a community reference for the applicant. It should not be a teacher, a family member or a friend, but someone who knows the applicant well outside the classroom and is older than 18 years of age. Examples of relevant persons to ask are sports coaches (outside school) or the applicant’s supervisor if the applicant is currently employed or does volunteer work.
  • ‘’School Reference’’ should be completed by a teacher who knows applicant well.

College Preference

You are able to rank the UWC colleges which you would like to attend the most (1 – most preferable, 18 – least preferable).
Please note that you will apply to the United World College movement, and NOT to specific colleges, so if you are successful, you will be allocated to the College that the Selection Committee believes suits your needs best. The list of colleges will simply be a chance for you to express your preference.

Final Selection Day

Based on the results of the Online Video Interview, successful candidates are invited for the Final selection stage, which is usually held in person on a weekend. The stage has an individual and group activities and conducted mainly in English, and most likely in Uzbek and Russian.

Financial Assessment

Because within the UWC movement the scholarships are provided based on the needs of candidates, every parent / guardian of the nominated candidate should complete a financial assessment form and submit the required financial documents. The financial committee will examine the form and the documents to determine the amount of the grant. Once the financial assessment is over, the National Committee sends its offer to the candidate with the UWC college he/she will be nominated to and the amount of the scholarship provided to the family. The candidate may either accept or decline the nomination. A decision on the amount of scholarship and UWC placement is not a subject to change.

Read more about the grant allocation procedure.

Nominations

Once the candidate has accepted the offer, the National Committee nominates successful candidates to enroll in a particular UWC college, while taking into consideration candidates’ preferences indicated on the Application Form and various other factors. Generally, colleges accept candidates based on the Selection Committees’ recommendations. However, colleges reserve the right to make the final decision concerning each candidate.

Once the main nomination period has closed, the UWC system opens a so-called Clearing List for waitlisted candidates who did not get nominated. The National committee nominates a student to a pool of candidates which UWC schools can choose from if they still have places available.

Orientation Course

Once the Nomination and Clearing Process are done, the admitted and soon-to-be UWC students participate in a two-week online orientation course, a demo version of what it is like to be a UWC student. The future students will have a chance to pump up their soft skills, learn more about the IB diploma program and get valuable information to help them tackle their 2 UWC years ahead.

Distribution of places in the colleges

The Selection Committee nominates successful candidates to enrol in a particular UWC college, while taking into consideration candidates’ preferences indicated in the Application Form. The distribution of candidates depends on the availability of places in each college and the applicant's rating score at the Final Selection Day. There is no possibility to change the college you have been offered to be nominated to. Colleges reserve the right to make the final decision concerning each individual candidate.

Please note:
  • Candidates apply to the UWC Selection Committee, not to any particular college. If you are interested in enroling in a particular college, you must apply through the UWC Global Selection Programme and undertake to pay the full fee for the UWC school or college.
  • Candidates may apply via only one Selection Committee (including UWC Global Selection Programme). You may apply next year if your situation meets the eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates with disabilities are also eligible to apply.
  • All information about candidates is confidential and not subject to disclosure.
